Just working my way through some issues with my son's Protege5. Recently, it was having issues with persistent part throttle hesitation, and threw codes indicating random misfire and lean burn. I replaced the plugs/coils/wires and got rid of the misfire code. I found a vacuum leak which got rid of the lean code. I also got rid of probably 90% of the hesitation issues. Here's the weird part, it now seems like the issue only appears when the gas tank is full or almost full. By the time it drops below 3/4 tank, the issue pretty much disappears . . . until I fill it up again.
I'm baffled. Any ideas?
