Starting with the 2016's with the Type B Audio (touchscreen and command knob) you can link the trip A reset and the MPG average reset together. From the Home screen, go to Applications, then Fuel Economy Monitor, open the bottom menu and go to Settings. There you have 2 choices: Show Screen at Ignition OFF and Sync Average and Trip A. More info is in the manual (p. 4-84 for a '16 and p. 4-80 for a '17).
