Warm starting issue

Mazda 3 1.6 2006
My Mazda 3 2006 usually works fine when I try to cold start it. During warm days and after driving longer distances sometimes the start will not work. In some cases when tried again after 20-30 minutes it works fine.

I have even installed a new battery but it did helped.

And when it works...

Any idea?

I suspect your starter may need to be replaced, but it could also be a loose cable. The way to tell for sure is to measure voltage at the starter when the ignition key is turned to the start position. Of course, I am assuming that your battery is good. If voltage at the starter is 12, I believe it shouldn't drop below 11.5 or so when the ignition switch is turned. See https://www.howacarworks.com/ignition-system/checking-a-starter-circuit

for more info.

Thanks a lot for quick response! Yes I have installed a new battery but it did not solve the problem. While this happens very randomly like 1/10 days I use the car, I'm wondering if I replace battery and start cables ?

The easiest thing to do would be to have an auto repair shop put your car on a lift. They could then look at the starter connections and measure voltage at the starter. If your ignition switch were faulty, no voltage would be measured at the starter when the switch is turned to the start position.

99.9% of the time this is a starter or starter solenoid issue...
