TPMS failure

Mazda CX-5 Grand Touring
UPDATE: TPMS failure

I purchased a 2014 CX-5, GT in late March, 50K miles. New tires last fall.
I checked the tire pressure then, late March, and each tire was over 40 PSI, like 42-43.
I set the pressure back to 36. No problems.

Today while driving the TPMS indicator came on, 'Tire Pressure Increase Pressure'
I checked all tires, steady at 36 PSI.
I reset the indicator with the TPMS switch.
The dash immediately lit up with the error message again.
I drove for a bit, stopped, put it in Park, handbrake on.
Reset the TPMS, and immediately the error message appeared again.

I went home, increased tire pressure to 40, drove around some.
Same thing.
I cannot reset the TPMS system.
It still tells me 'Increase Pressure'
Anyone see this before?
Any other ideas?

I'll drop the pressure next to 36, try it again.

the TPMS has a mis-use prevention logic.
Basically.. if you reset the system without changing the tire pressure, it'll make the light stay on forever.

Your 2014 probably require a quick visit to the dealer to get this reset.
Show them this TSB and do not allow them to charge you any money.

I had a similar problem with mine a few months ago and tried to decipher that tsb. Out of sheer frustration I just kept on resetting it a few times and it eventually sorted itself out. There seems to be some sort of self-correcting logic in the system, so don't panic and just keep "encouraging" it to do the right thing.:)

The problem was not in the miss-use prevention part of the system. It was simply the #%$!$% settings in the infotainment system to "remind" me to check the tire pressure.
I did not look closely enough in this when I was fooling around with it.
The dealer was very nice, very helpful.
Also, notified me of the recall on the rear 'stay dampers' Replaced both, in and out in 45 min. No charge.
