Headers check engine light?

So im about to install some aftermarket headers on my protege5 but i hear rumors that installing them causes check engine lights and other probelms does anyone know if its true? Or how i can avoid them

Honestly I bought the OBX dealio from Amazon. It's like $7 and it does the same thing as the non foulers, but it's plug and play.
