Mazda CX-5 Splash Guards....Worth It?

I'm going to be buying a 2016 CX-5 in the next few days. I'm wondering if the Mazda splash guards are really worth it. They seem so small in the pictures online, I'm not sure they would do anything. I do drive down dirt roads fairly often though. Are the Mazda splash guards worth it? Are they easy to add later if I want to (I don't know how hard this would be to do on my own)? Would something after market be better?

The rear Mazda splash guards are great, work well, and fit perfectly. Those tiny front OEM splash guards are pretenders and while I they're better than nothing I would buy aftermarket if I had to do it again.
