Parking Brake Light ON

Hi everyone,
I just bought a 2016.5 CX-5 about 2 weeks ago. New to the Mazda family and loving the CX-5. Just one question though. When first unlocking the car, I noticed that on the instrument cluster that the parking brake light is on for a couple of seconds and after turning off the car it also stays on for a couple of seconds. I never paid attention to it before but I noticed it today. Then if you repeat unlock/lock process after the initial unlocking it doesn't come back on. Is this whole thing normal. Other then that I really like this car, especially when I put in sport mode. It is like "turbo" just kicked in.

I assume yours has the electronic parking brake, mine hasn't. However my previously owned Mazda 6 did, and I'm pretty sure the light stayed on for a bit after switching the ignition off, but I can't say I noticed whether it came on with unlocking too.

Completely normal.
