Is a 7 seat CX-5 needed?

I thought I remembered seeing something about a new 'CX7' concept at some point that was basically a slightly stretched CX5 with a 3rd row actually.

Curious now...

After some Googling:

No idea how 'accurate' these are but the general concept of a revived CX7 nameplate based on stretched CX5 architecture with an available 3rd row isn't entirely loopy.

The 2018 CX-7 won’t get its own platform. Instead the SUV will borrow CX-5 architecture, which will be stretched a bit.

The head of Mazda Australia, Martin Benders has hinted that the CX-7 model designation may be about to be revived. The new CX-7 will be more spacious and get an optional third row of seats, the model should fit between the CX-5 SUV and the CX-9

Also, I am 6'1" and I towered over everyone. People are shorter and thinner in China and Japan. American's are fat (speaking as an American!).

I don't think it applies to China especially Northern China where the populous is generally very tall!

They aren't all Yao Ming. 6'1" in China is still very large, even in the north.

Maybe that's how they justified the nearly inexplicable 10% loss in cargo on the 17...2018/9: Here's the slightly roomier, slightly more expensive 3 row capable CX-7! Yeah that's definitely happening.
