A perfect example is the BMW M3. My friend had one (2003 model, I rode in it in 2004). It GLIDED over pot-holes under WOT. Barely bobbled the car. My 1995 Trans AM would have been SLAMMING through those pot-holes...the M3's suspension rapidly and gracefully articulated to accommodate the road irregularities on that little backwater cross-over road in S. TX. My Trans Am? Not so much. People that think harsh=handles well would hands-down LOVE my Trans Am's crash-smash approach to pot-holes and seams in the pavement. People who actually knew what a good handling car was, would revel in the precision and grace of the M3.
I think people who are hung up on this CX5 being "performance oriented" are doing much the same thing. Stiffer ain't always better. Considering the rock and roll wallowing the Miata does, I'm shocked to see the Mazda crowd singing this tune.
*Another great example is the ZR1 vs. Z06. ZR1 handles WAY better, Z06 feels WAY "crisper" and more rigid and stiff.

March 18th- So 1 week in to having my 2015 GT and am having transmission issues. Taking it to the dealer tomorrow am and hoping the warranty covers it. After doing some research and taking it to my local shop (they ruled out wheel bearing issues) it looks like it's the transmission/transaxle. TSB No. 0500414 is what I found and it's exactly what I'm hearing (although I have a 2015 and it only shows '12-'14 having the problem)
March 20th- Took my 2015 GT to the dealer this morning to get the transmission checked....moral of the story is it needs a new transmission...thankfully covered by the warranty! Should be good as new in a week or 2 and in the meantime they gave me a 2016.5 GT to drive around...Sport mode is kind of cool on it!
All in all, thank goodness for the warranty!!
