Plastic engine coolant tank we normally see checking coolant level is the expansion tank for overflow and you're supposed to check the coooant level in clod. Nevertheless the "Full" and "Low" marks are designed for cold coolant level. You do have plenty of extra space for coolant to expand when hot. In theory engine coolant level, like engine oil level, can be in between "Full" and "Low" marks, but we don't want living dangerously and want to keep all fluid levels at "Full" mark if possible!
