Up in Calgary AB, we're freezing our asses off. It's -25c without the windchill. I decided to plug the Mazda in, first time ever, and listened to the engine bay to make sure something was heating up something, and I heard a buzzing sort of noise, so I know it's working. But what type of heater is installed on our Northern CX-5's? Are they coolant recirculators? Do they flow the coolant or just heat up one bit and it spreads to the rest of the coolant?

Can you follow the heaters power wire and see where it connects to under the hood? That would be telling...

On the mirage the heater is just a element rod that goes into a certain spot and heats by conduction..

Yep, got to love that global warming........... -41C this morning with the wind.
Since I live in your neck of the woods, (red deer), it will be your std little electrode thingy that sits in the water jacket, no circulate.
