Alright so I got a 2003 Mazdaspeed Protege and at high rpms it will cut out then pick right back up. I cant seem to figure out what it would be. MAP sensor? Idk. Its not throwing the CEL.
Did you happen to find out? My car is cutting out under excessive throttle. My boost is jumping around 7hg-12hg during boost. I do have boost leaks I will be fixing soon, but something tells me it's not related to them.
Sounds like fuel cut to me as well. Any idea what your boost is peaking at? I JUST replaced my wastegate due to this same issue. I was spiking 15lb's and fuel was being cut thanks to a broken wastegate diaphragm. I'm a new owner to a 2003 MSP, the first mod I installed was a boost gauge and I about pooed my pants when I saw it spike to 15lbs. With the new wastegate installed, the car pulls as it should and is holding the correct boost pressure.
