2016 Mazda6 Touring- Engine power drop off

My 2014 Mazda6 Touring has a very disconcerting engine rev drop issue. While accelerating to highway speeds, the revs reach between 4500-5000 and then suddenly drop down to around 3400 rpm. The car slows as this is happening. Even flooring the pedal past the kick button does not help. I have to back off the pedal for a moment and then the car seems to run okay. I've taken it to the dealer and they have found nothing wrong. No codes recorded.
I really like this car except for this nagging power drop issue.
Has anyone here had a similar problem? Is there a fix?
Please help! Thank you!

I have the 2016 grand touring and mine does not seem to do that. I suggest you bring it back to the dealership and make them do a road test. And take out a demo model and test it out.

vintv57, from your simple description, it could be many things.
I assume that there is no light on the dash since you did not mention it.
If it was the engine, there should be some warning light.
So, it could be transmission, which only has a temp sensor to get you into limp mode (which is not what you experienced).
Sounds like torque converter is slipping.

You should bring it in since it should still be under powertrain warranty, correct?
