Just returned from a RT Denver to Steamboat Springs, Colorado. On the way, thought fuel gauge was dead as there seemed no movement off empty after nearly 150 miles. Finally dropped off the peg. Figured we didn't need fuel to return to Denver with well more than a half tank showing in Steamboat. Indicator claimed 42+ and I figured we were running well into 40s. Tanked up on return home. Ended with 42.73 mpg for 374.92 miles calculated after fill up. Never thought we'd see it, although 34-36 highway has been the norm.
