Recommendation for winter wheel size

Would anyone know if the CX-9 wheel size is a common one across other OEMs? I'd like to search out other avenues, to see if I can source used wheels that someone is selling.
Looking at a set of new alloy wheels is $, maybe I can score a good set of take-offs.

A lot of Toyota and Nissan products also use a 5 x 4.5" (5 x 114.3 mm) hub bolt pattern.

You also need the correct offset (I think about 40 mm, but check this) and the correct center hole diameter...67.1 mm or larger with a wheel centering ring.

Our Wheels
5X114.3 Bolt pattern
67.1 Center Bore
45ET offset (On the Signature, not sure about the lower trims)

Hyundai/Kias would be a direct fit...they use 5X114.3 Bolt pattern and 67.1 Center Bore, which is perfect match as long as the offset is between 35-45ET

Local guy has a 17" set of steelies with Michelin X-Ice, from a previous-gen CX-9. I guess a test fit is in order, becasue the price is right.
Did Mazda keep everything the same? Tire size is 245/65R17

Wheels will be a perfect fit.
The Tire however is a smaller diameter... 30" OD is current Gen..... 29.5" OD is the previous Gen... 1mph difference at 60mph

Have a line on 4 RSSW Mayfairs. 17", 45 offset, right bolt pattern and 67.1 centre bore...
Now I need to get some tire quotes. Looking above, I'll be 255/65-17 is the correct sizing?

Bibs, you are good

The correct sizes are as follows
255-50-20 inch wheel
255-55-19 inch wheel
255-60-18 inch wheel
255-65-17 inch wheel

There are very few 255/65-17 snow tires available. Nokian Hakka R2 SUV, and....?

We did a long holiday drive on the Blizzak DM-V2 245/65-17 on my existing Sorento wheels. Drove well. Didn't get into snow (detoured to another city to buy a Prius Prime plug in hybrid for the Mrs. Like that car a lot).

Well December is here. Anyone have pictures of their winter rims on?

Here's mine. Settled on steelies, as the deals fell through on every set of alloys I had a line on. Time was running out.

Top it off, Canadian Tire had 20x points this weekend. I got $180 off, plus I get $80 off from Michelin.

When I bought my 2008 CX-9 the 255/50 R20's Blizzaks were ridiculously expensive and the stock tires which came on the car were garbage on dry, wet and snow. So I bought a set of Blizzak's and cheap rims from Tire Rack. Size 235/65 R18. They are the EXACT same circumference, about one-half inch not as wide, but were about $500 cheaper. Good news is the 2016 Signature uses the exact same size tire and just had my old Blizzaks installed. While the tires fit, it's time for some new tires. It was extremely painful explaining to my dealer why i wanted this size tire on my new car. They eventually agreed I wasn't crazy.

Anyway, here's a photo with the old Blizzaks. New ones should be in before end of next week.

I got these 19" Fast Wheels rims installed with Blizzaks. Not sure how I feel about the black since it almost looks like steelies, but I was in a rush to get something on there...

Plan to switch from a CX-5 to a CX-9 and thinking of using the wheels from the CX-5 for winter. Would this work? The CX-5 wheels are 17x7 (225/65R17) or 19x7 (225/55R19) with the same bolt pattern and center bore.

The CX-9 is 255/ 50r20 or a total diameter of 30". A 225/ 55r19 is 28.7" for a difference of 4.3%. You want to stay around 1% difference and I've always been told to never exceed 3%.

Just chat with a guy from Tirerack and he told me to use 255/55R19 or 255/65R17, he said the 255 will fit the 7" wide rims.

Someone mentionned earlier they wanted to test fit RX8 wheels at 18x8 50offset. Any feedback if it fits or not? I could get a pretty good deal for some

Just curious based from your experience of having a slightly narrower tire (235mm which was you said half an inch narrower than OEM) did it affect the driving/handling of the CX9? I was considering replacing my OEMs and the tire shop was recommending the slightly narrower width but same O.D. as the OEM spec..the 235s were a lot cheaper than the 255 spec.
