I think an "all-new" 2nd-gen CX-5 should be seen at 2016 LA Auto Show (November) as a 2017 MY.

If it happened, when 2017 CX-5 would be available to buy in US?

if it followed the previous example it would have already been out for a few months!

I don't think there will be a 2017 CX-5

I think there will be one. The new CX-9 got released part way through 2016 as a 2016 model, so maybe the CX-5 will do the same?

Yes, this is what makes me scratch my head...and have some doubt... I cannot recall the last time this happened...

Yeah I thought it a little weird that my 2014 got manufactured in January 2013.

If Mazda follows "the most recent" example, it would be available in late spring / early summer in 2017 and be called a 2017 like the 2nd-gen 2016 CX-9.
