None of the templates in my flash utility say mazda2, and I wonder if that's why none worked when I attempted the data dump from the ecu. Anyone else have this issue when using the MazdaEdit software?

This is the issue I am having. Anyone else see something similar?

There is no "mazda2" profile, it's generic CAN for all Mazda ECUs in this generation. Re-read the instructions and follow them EXACTLY as OVT or DT sent them.

Turns out I did have the wrong templates. Next step is to re-register MazdaEdit. This is certainly more time intensive then EcuTek and Cobb AP!

edit: I now have a "Mazda2 CAN ECU" template which seemed to work. Feel like I'm finally getting somewhere.

I am getting errors occurred but have the Mazda 2 Can ECU option selected. I don't know what i need to fix. Can anyone help?

As long as it goes through that 7-8 min countdown process it should be working. Make sure after you click save, that you DON'T save it to the default spot. Mine looked like there were errors but supposedly was OK. Post up your flash log so we can see the errors.

I will take a pic tonight after work. It takes less than 10 seconds for the error to show up. It Happens when starting the car and trying to get a response.

I believe you need to just have the key in the on position, and not actually crank up the car. At least for the stock data dump process, which is all I've completed so far. I haven't done anything past that.

Sorry I don't start the car. I am at the exact same stage. Will post up. Would having a error on the vin make a difference? I think one of the 0 might be an O

The letter O is never used for a VIN, just zeros FWIW.

I had issues originally. Went with Dynotronics to get it sorted out after repeated issues.

I am with dynotronics, but have not heard back. I will have another look at the vin also. I might have sent the wrong vin then. I have a Japanese built 2, and I noticed my vin is a bit different to the one posted above by eyeballs.

The above messages are where mine is different. And if it makes any difference, mine was built in japan as well.
