Working on rear brakes today.
Replaced passenger side rotor and pads with a bit of a fight with caliper pins and carrier bolts. Found inserting pads surprisingly difficult BTW, any ideas why?
Was able to retract caliper piston by hand just by using an open ended spanner (19mm) in the notches.
Moving to driver's side, had an almighty fight to get caliper pins out, eventually won.
However, I was unable to retract the piston - would not rotate at all.
Got wife to pull hand brake (e-brake) - cable moved spring assembly, but the piston DID NOT MOVE.
Pressed foot brake, piston moves out.
Is the caliper shot?
