Will a auto trans from a protege5 fit an 01 protege

I'm looking up a replacement car as my Subaru is going to need some trans work done and I don't have the time. I see someone selling an 01 protege for about 1100. They said the trans kinda hesitates before engaging but doesn't slip. This however isn't a big factor as I'm also parting out an 03 mp5. Would the transmission from the mp5 fit on an 01 base model I assume?

Also what else would fit from an mp5 just in case I have some parts leftover that don't sell

Gauge
Exhaust
Etc

Are they both 2L engines? Is the 03 a sportshift transmission?

They are both 2ls but the 03 does have sport shift

Yeah go to www.car-part.com when you search for 2001 see if any 2003 ones pop up

I have a non-sport shift auto if you need a transmission..

I want to know if actually works though. If prefer the sportshift if all I need is the ecu. If it doesn't. Inbox me your asking price
