Limp mode

Had the battery light come on. Fitted new battery. New alternator. No alarms now but car is in limp mode. Have had the ecu read message says communication error. Can anyone help.

You have a bad TCM (Trans Control Module). Is your transmission stuck in 3rd gear?

No the car will drive in all gears. Had a new clutch fitted at the same time. As I thought this was the problem. The car has now power after about 3000revs

Okay, I thought it was an auto trans. So the problem happened immediately after the clutch install? That seems like more than a coincidence. Are you sure that all connectors that had to be disconnected were reconnected?

Problem seems to have started when I burnt the clutch out. Was there before clutch replacement. Battery light came on a few days latter. Machanic who fitted alternator says this could of spiked at higher voltage. The car will start and rev but soon reverts back into limp mode.
