This is most likely a noob question but where is the ECU/PCM located in the CX-7?
I'm having issues with my CEL coming on after cold starts and some warm starts. After driving for a while it turns off and it may be multiple starts before it illuminates again. My local mechanic tells me its possibly a bad ECU but it will cost ~$350 to diagnose. My OBDII pulls the code is P0016: Crank-Cam position correlation (Bank 1 Sensor A). Funnily enough this mechanic replaced my entire timing system and crank sensor in January, the car has been back in the shop 3 times and they still haven't resolved the issue. Anyone else had this issue caused by a faulty ECU?
I feel they haven't got the timing right when they first did it and don't want to eat the cost of re-doing it.
