- 2003 Mazdaspeed Protege
I have an 03 Mazda Mazdaspeed Protege. 135k miles. This car has given me more problems than any other car I've owned in my life. Owning it in only 2 years I've replaced:
Timing belt
Water pump
Crankshaft sensor
Radiator
Serpantine belts
Spark plugs
Coil packs
EGR valve
Turbo
Iac valve
Valve cover
Oil pan Gasket
Oil Cooler Gasket
Brake caliper
Brake pads
Brake rotors
All in 2 years... and there's a leak in the water pump again. I'm done with it and so is my wife. I want to get into something more luxurious like an acura tl or lexus is300. I dont want to buy new because im not ready to make payments so ill be buying used with cash.
A guy offered to trade his 2000 bmw 328i with 150k miles.
Tranny was rebuilt with paperwork few months ago.
New throttle body.
Coolant system was replaced.
All window regulators were replaced.
It has a small pin hole leak on the power steering hose.
Have you guys had any experience with this car? What to look out for? Do you think it's a good trade? Any info would help. I'm aware of the high cost for parts but my issue is the frequency of it breaking down, not really the cost to maintain it.
