Apple car play

Has anyone installed an Apple Play unit into their CX5?
I am looking at these units, Kenwood DDX6902S, DDX6702S and the Pioneer AVIC-F960DAB but am trying to find out if I keep my steering wheel controls OR if it all done by voice activation through the unit. I have read all the info on the manufacturers website but they don't cover anything about steering wheel controls.

Before anyone comments I am a fully fledged Apple man. (some say good some say bad).

You should be able to integrate all steering wheel functions with a new head unit. It'll require a steering wheel interface from a company like PAC or idatalink. I have a head unit with CarPlay on another vehicle and the steering wheel controls work great. The "push to talk" button can be used to activate Siri.

The steering wheel controls are redundant, just like stock, so you can either use them or use the touch screen.
