Android Auto and all the other settings still work??

Is there any way to put in Android Auto and have all other car settings, backup camera, etc still work??

I'd read before if you needed to change a car configuration, you'd have to put the old unit back in, make the change, then put the Android Auto unit back in again.

Is this still the case??
 
I have a 2015 Touring with Tech (Bose).
I replaced mine with the Kenwood DDX9902S Android Auto unit.
It's not plug and play to get backup camera to work, you have to make your own adapter. (The the post about the Pioneer Android Auto thread)
But yes, properly installed, backup camera and steering wheel controls work.
And yes, to change light and car settings you need to plug in stock unit.
