This is an old thread but just to add, you can press the brake to the floor on my car if the engine is running. Its normal.

Have you tried? Start the engine, slowly apply pressure and keep your foot on the pedal. It will creep right to the floor.

It might not sound right but the latest systems with VSC will respond to your inputs and if sit pressing it will just keep adding pressure on your behalf. Try it.

The web page is correct, it will creep if there is a leak but my new Mazda doesn't leak.

It's not normal, and it doesn't have to be a leak on the outside. It usually indicates fluid leaking past the cups inside the master cylinder.
