Hi.
New here.
Have a brand new Mazda 2 Opitmum and have an (inexpensive) standard external 320GB 2" harddisk loaded with MP3-files plugged in into one of the USB-ports and it works like a charm; I can browse the entire harddisk from the touchscreen (or steering wheel) and play entire directories or single songs. Who needs iCrap (headbang)?
Pros: Very cheap solution (< $50) for holding that much songs.
Easy to "fill up" with new songs.
Great sound, 320kbps is no problem.
Cons: The random function is so-so...looks like it picks the same songs everytime, even though they are not in order....
It takes a while when you start up and select the device - a few minutes - before you can start playing. I guess that the system have to make some kind of index.
You can not categorize by artist and among other selections that you can if you play a smartphone via Bluetooth.

But my main question is: how do I make and select playlists?
I have tried making .M3U and .PLS files (from Winamp), even with the #EXTM3U parameter on top of the file but it's not selectable.
Anyone who have a solution of this?
