mazda 3 2014 sportsedan
Hello
I'm thinking about to change the stock wheels (18) of my 2014 sportsedan with eibachs springs.
I want to know if the 2 following options will fit without rub the fenders with the car fully loaded.
-economical option: 225/40/18 in a 8.5x18 et40
-expensive option: 225/40/19 in a 8.5x19 et42

You would definitely be safe with the 18" package, but I would bet you'd see rubbing with the 19".

They should fit pretty well, but you asked about driving with a load in the car... those are two different questions.

Hi
You right, I understand that when the car is fully loaded with the 19's option, will rub the rear fenders, right? Or it will be a complete disaster?
Because if they only rub a little in the rear, I would be able to pull a little the rear fenders and fix the problem?
I do not want to modificate a lot to put the 19's...

It sounds like you really want the 19" wheels...

Yeah, a fender roll would take care of any rubbing problems.

If you go with a 225/35-19, you won't have any issues since it's the same diameter as a 225/40-18.

Actually, this conversation piqued my curiosity and I went looking on Tire Rack - it seems that 225/40R19 is one of those oddball sizes that's not quite what its nominal dimensions say it should be. It runs only 0.1-0.2" taller than the stock 215/45R18.

I think that the problem is the combination of the diameter and the bigger width of the wheel and the 42 et.
I want 225/40/19 because 225/35 is too agressive for me..

To really benefit from a wheel change, try to reduce the wheel weight as much as possible. 19 x 8.5 may end up weighing as much as an OEM wheel and THAT'S sad. A 225 width tire should not need more than 8" of width.

Yes, that will be ideal.
Guys, do you think that a model wheel like the motec tornado in 18" (multispoke) and a lower profil (225/40 vs stock 215/45) will give a sensation that the wheel is bigger than stock?
