2016 CX-5 Can't Charge A Phone

Why use the 5v 500-750ma USB, when you have a 12V outlet that can put out 2.0amps

I just put a high power charger in the center console lighter slot. Works great and is neater, too.

Mine charges pretty fast. Do the new ones really not have a power outlet under the dash anymore?

Still there (see red arrow):

My 2017 Touring has the following outlets:
12V socket, always hot in the top/front of the console
12V socket, only hot when car is on, in the center console box
2 USB ports only hot when car is on, in the center console box
2 USB ports, always hot in the rear seat arm rest.
12V socket, always hot in rear cargo area.

If you are using USB ports, the ones in the rear seat arm rest are fast charging compared to the centre console box

I have a 2017 galaxy tablet and a 2016 moto G4 neither one has ever charged at 2 amp, most I recall is 1.5 amp and that at 7.5 volts on the fast charge function. That's at home om mains using supplied chargers.

Most new phones need 2A to charge and older USB specs can't provide this kind of current draw.
My 2014 will *maybe* charge my phone when it is off. I will not even get a charging icon when it is on.

I have purchased a 110V/USB 2A charger on Amazon which plugs into the outlet in the console. With it, I can charge my phone / tablet and power a laptop.
