Does anyone know if Mazda is planning any significant changes to the 2017 CX-5?
I'd love it if memory seats can be retrofitted...
Exactly! You also need a switch and some sort of control module and re-programming the car computer because now the car needs to recognize which key fob sending the signal.It is probably possible as memory seats is offered in Europe and Australasia for the top spec model. Conceivably, you could order the seats with stepping motor from Europe (LHD model) and fit the seats yourself. The reality is that it is likely to be so expensive that it is not worth it unless it is factory fitted.I'd love it if memory seats can be retrofitted...
I found this quote from Biggers Mazda ;
The interior of the Mazda CX-5 is projected to see a refresh, as well. Its rumored to feature a more intuitive interface with a 7-inch touchscreen situated higher in the center console for improved visibility.
I found this quote from Biggers Mazda ;
That info from that dealership is WAY OFF. They are talking about the 2016 Mazda CX-5. This statement:
"Industry experts believe the 2017 Mazda CX-5 should be powered by Mazdas very capable 2.0L inline 4-cylinder engine, which can produce 155 hp and 150 lb-ft of torque. Other possibilities include the 2.5L I-4 engine as a potential upgrade for higher trims."
The above is outdated info. The 2.5 is already out and has been out for the 2016 and I believe the 2015. So their info on the infotainment system is also outdated.
Mazda updated the interior in the 2016 CX5 so they will not be updating doing major changes for a few years. Small minor upgrades but nothing big.
The only changes that I can see for 2017 is the addition of PADDLE SHIFTERS, HEADS-UP DISPLAY, LED GRILLE since that is what the 3's and 6's have now. Mazda can easily incorporate those into the CX5.
The only one that I liked was the HEADS-UP display. It was a nice feature when I drove the 6. It's not a TRUE heads-up display like that on Corvettes which displays onto the windshield. I never figured out why Mazda didn't just have it display onto the windshield???
Is it definate then that the 2017 CX-5 will *NOT* be a fully redesigned, 2nd generation vehicle?
How long do Mazda model generations usually run before a redesign?
