Hey guys.
Things seem to be getting deader by the day for us protege fans. I figured since we haven't got much less to lose, I may as well make a build thread! I'll start by saying hi, my name's Ben. My protege has been my daily driver, project car, and only car since '09! I've been on here and other protege forums for a long time, mostly just scouring the web for info, but you may have seen me answer the occasional question from time to time. I haven't made a build thread until now, because figured i'd bore you guys, haha! But in all seriousness, since attendance has dropped and a lot of people have stopped caring about proteges, I guess I just want to do my part in reigniting the flame for someone else.

Whelp... I guess we'll start off with some pictures to Give you guys an Idea of what I'm talking about.

Wow, looks great so far! More pics?! That interior looks pristine. I can always appreciate someone who strives to keep they're car looking clean as well as keeping it physically clean (thumb)

Just got a ze valve cover that is in the prep phase. And I'm going to be shaving some things off of it. Also ordered some 1.8 ignition coils and a set of cb7 accord plug wires. Also working on the other two Racing Harts for the front. Making stuff happen.

Can someone explain the 1.8 coils conversion to me? What's the difference/pros/cons?

Also, do you have spacers behind that rear set of Racing Harts?

20mm spacers on the rear with around 1.5 degrees camber an 215/45/17 tires.

1.8 coil conversion is mostly just for looks, but a plus is you get the coils off the top of the engine, less heat promotes longer coil life. Some people have noticed other improvements, and that would be great, but I'm not expecting it to feel any different.

It really does look pretty good. I'm the happiest ive ever been with it. Its been through a couple of reincarnations, but this is the best so far.

Looks amazing man!! Love all the attention to details, especially the engine bay. I know it's a work in progress, but looks beautiful already. I also really dig the custom tweeter surrounds, look snazzy. Well done! (thumb)

Damn man. you have one nice clean p5... im jealous!

Thanks guys. Got a couple more pictures today.

You can see my huge dent behind my headlight. Other than that and a small dent in the middle of the hood, thats pretty much it for damage.

Here's what i'm currently working on:

These are old, cut accord wires just for mock-up purposes. Since the lengths are perfect for my coil mounting choice, i'll be using a slightly modified set f22 plug wires.

JDM yo haha... I seriously might keep it though...

And there was some mounting points on the front of my fsze valve cover that need to be shaved along with some other less important stuff.

Here is the ze coil bracket that I cut up and will be using with 1.8 coils. I would've used the ze coils, but one is all chewed up from something.
