BHP1-66-EZ1A Mazda SD Card WARNING for Mazda Connect

:
ASH8
Also applies to Mazda 'MZD Connect' SD Navigation Cards used in countries....

I just wanted to make people aware that some owners are unwittingly selling old or used Mazda SD Nav Cards on eBay.

Basically do not buy them as these SD Nav cards are locked to the vehicles VIN Number after the car has travelled 62 miles or 100 kilometres from new.
Unless the Seller can guarantee that the SD Nav Card has not travelled this distance then the SD Nav Card is useless to any new user as you CAN NOT UNLOCK the VIN Lock.

This is separate to the actual physical Card Lock Tab which is on most large SD Cards.

Note
If a SD card with VIN-locked condition is installed to another vehicle, there will be an error message “Invalid SD Card” on the center display.

Obviously if the new SD Nav Card sold are still sealed and unopened or never installed in any car they are OK.

See a snap shot of the official Mazda USA warning to it's Dealers.

See SD Card Pic attached here...

BTW: There is a new major Software Update for all Mazda Connect/MZD Connect users to fix the many system bugs.
Version 55.00.650 is available now at Mazda Dealer service shops (they may not have yet downloaded the large file).
Obviously you will have to book your car in.
