Hi everyone,

I got to this forum by googling the above question, and reaching this incredibly useful thread by VRMS6:
Code:

. But I still can't get my remote to be programmed...

Short story: I bought my two button (lock/unlock) switchblade key by the FCC ID of my old remote (which completely died and cannot be repaired), so unless I'm missing something, it should definitely work. But I still can't get it to work.

My car is a 2009 Mazda 2. Following the above linked guide succesfully places the car in "Program Mode" (it locks and unlocks after closing and opening door 3 times), but pressing the Unlock button twice on the remote lights it up, but car won't lock/unlock twice, and obviousley, remote won't work.

My original key has a FCC ID of KR55WK43451. I bought a key with the exact same FCC ID, 315MHz With 4D63 Chip. But I got myself wondering many things:

1. My original key lists both 315MHz to the left and 433Mhz to the right in the inside of the key. Which one is it?? Based off the FCC ID, it should be 315MHz, but I don't know...

2. 4d63 chip? No idea if my original one used that chip, and can't find anything refferecing to it.

3. I'm trying to program the new remote on the key, taken out directly from the box, meaning uncut and unprogrammed. Is it not working because it's still not programmed to the car (the programming that allows it to start the engine), or does that not matter?

Thanks for the help. I want to rule out everything before I return the replacement key.
