YouTube video of CX-3s loading at Japan port on 2/27/15...

Common silver/white/black color doesn't bother me. I don't really want to be a "hey look at me" in my crazy rare color type of driver anyway. Primary colors go in and out of fashion quickly though and visually age a car. I drive my vehicles a LONG time. Although I baby them and take care of them, minor scratches/dents/dirt are inevitable due to age. My first new car was a Jeep Wrangler that served me well for 15 years. I currently still drive a 2002 Mazda Tribute ES that I bought new. Its silver metallic and still looks near new inside and out. Unfortunately the engine is finally giving me serious problems, so I'm looking to upgrade after 13 years to a new CX-5 or possibly a CX-3. Hopefully a silver CX-5 will last me another 13 years minimum and then I will buy my third Mazda in 2029.

Yay, opinions!

Silver is generally boring and I disagree that other colors will make your "car look dated."

Maybe manufacturers should start offering this option (yes, that's how the car came from the factory):
