Tire upsize?

I need to replace my tires. Discount tire just told me that they don't have the 215 45 17 that I'm looking for on a particular set, but that they have 225 45 17, and it should be fine. Car is stock rims, hasn't been lowered, stock suspension (to my knowledge). Will the 225 tires be alright? And are there any ramifications to putting them on (mileage, speedometer affected, etc)?

They should fit. Just really need to check fitment in rear. Your speedometer should stay the same. Or at least you won't notice a difference. As far as tire size. They should be able to just order you the proper size and won't be no more expensive. If there a decent shop they would have looked into ordering you tires if they didn't have them in stock.

You should stick with the stock size, 225/45 wont' look good IMO. My buddy's MSP had them on it when he bought it.
