Hey guys,

You all know the factory head-unit on models older than '16 for the CX-5 is crap.
I have been browsing and I liked the Pumpkin Android head-unit but was wondering if anyone had given a try?

I ask because not sure if steering controls will be compatible and sometimes after market head-units have reliability issues over time.

Anyways, some links from amazon.com

Most of these off brand units have a lot of features and sound great on paper, but tend to be junk. I don't have experience with the pumpkin brand, but often times these units are rebranded under numerous names that come and go. It's like they order a large batch from china and once they sell out of product, they disappear only to reappear under a different brand name.

Personally I would stick to some of the tried and true name brands (alpine, pioneer, kenwood, etc) if you want to go the aftermarket route.

Oh and the second unit linked won't work for the cx-5. The shape is designed for the newer VW radios

All I can say, that even a $1400 Kenwood android based unit(it takes a block of driving, to get some sound out of it), has it's own issues, than what can you expect from something under $400?
