Mounting location of amplifier

I've replaced the dash speakers with 3 1/2 coaxial Pioneers w/ base blockers, and a pair of 8" Lanzar 3 ways in the doors. And yes, even with the inexpensive 8" Lanzar's, the S.Q. improvement is absolutely amazing.
At the very least folks...get some nice 3 1/2's in the dash.(guitar)

With the stock H.U., it gets loud, but I plan on installing a 2 channel amp for the front (leaving rear doors alone).

Looking for ideas where to mount the amp. Looks like under the passenger seat is the most promising, but was wondering if anyone has other ideas on amp placement.

Thanks,

Carl

Ive got 3 amps in mine, and a capacitor. I managed to hide all of this under the front seats. I dont have a shot of the passenger side, but this is the drivers side.
A lot of people put them in the spare tire wheel well, but I didn't want to run the risk of being stuck without a spare tire.
I also cut a piece of 1/2" plexi and secured it above the amps, but screwed into the floor. This allows people to rest their feet on the floor and amps without even knowing they are under their feet.

I managed to hide all of this under the front seats.

Thanks for the reply and info.:) Looks like you did a nice job.:) I had to lighten up your pic, but I see you ran the wires up through the "rear heater duct". Excellent idea. Can't get more protected than that.:)

How do you like the Pioneer 4ch class D? I have the same unit N.I.B waiting for it's install into my wife's Mx-5 this winter.:):)

Thanks again,

Carl

I ran the wiring along the door sill actually. I just used the existing holes in the carpet there to have them cleanly exit from underneath so I didnt have to cut up the carpet further. I did drill a couple pass through holes in the metal support under the seat, but it leave the install looking clean and unnoticeable unless you move the drivers seat all the way forward.

The amp works well. Its nothing fancy, but it has more than enough power for my speakers and needs, and I'm pretty picky when it comes to sound quality.

I have mounted my two amps under the front seats as well, but a bit more forward then acoutu, above the vents. I did not want hot air to blow on them.
I have just used some long screws and drilled and bolted them to the bottom of the car. It's not easy, to drill though the carpet. Maybe, it would be easier to use a punch first.
