just FYI - when I tried to install HID bulbs into the foglights the stupid bulb shroud cracked my return ground ceramic

there's no way to open up the foglights to unscrew the bulb shroud

these Mazda2 fogs are the SAME EXACT housings without the bulb shroud:

Hi Avideien. Your post has helped me tremendously. I had purchased the latest and greatest Philips Ultinon LED bulbs for fogs. The shroud was hiding the bulb and spoiling its direction throwput. I ended up purchasing OEM Mazda2 fog lights for $200 which is still pinching me. However, when I removed the bracket and fixed CX-9 bracket (glove fit) and then installed the fogs back in place, my Philips Ultinon LED is now showing its true colours. More brightness, more light and different direction cut offs on the road and above all it all looks even whiter from the outside. Thx a billion for your greatest tip. Sami

glad I can help Sami ! much better without the shroud right ?

the CX-9 OEM headlights are horrible in the rain

wow $200 would pinch me too ! eBay ones are only $84/pair ,
but yours are OEM so quality will be better

anyways as long as you can see better at night is what matters,

can you post link to the Philips Ultinon LED you got ? thanks in advance

Ha, I still need to do this. That damn shroud is blocking my 3000lm of VLED goodness... :(
