Anyone know where I can get just the bushings for the rear diff that mount in the subframe. Those assholes at Mazda want me to by the whole subframe for those stupid bushings. Insane. Any leads would be great, they may crossover into some other car??

Yes. They have a plastic race that I had to shave down ever so slighting to fit but they are in and work fine. They are slightly wider as well. So you can either cut them or just use them the way they are and skip the washer on the back side. I decided not to cut them. I figured they would be a bit weaker if I cut them so the whole thing went in. I figure even though they are not exactly like the original (almost) that it is sure cheaper and easier than a new subframe used or new. $70 for the bushings and $50 for the side diff bushings is a deal over a used unit at $300++ or new at $1200+ and all the work. I could not find a 65mm poly bushing to fit or anything else that would work. This is the best option. Things are working fine with it. Solid now. Diff hardly moves.

Great! Thank you! I'll try to replace it in next summer.
Is side bushings also from Ford? Do you have Part Number?

Those are all the same bushings I used. The last one is the rear bushings in subframe. I have explained above how to fit them. They are wider than OEM mazda. But I suggest not cutting them as I feel they will loose their strength. Just do not use the washer on the back side.

Hello all, new to the forums and experiencing the same issue as described above...unfortunately, i have not been able to source the part locally in Ottawa, Canada or the U.S....and I really, really dont want to spend that much on subframe...Has anyone been able to source the part (that can ship to Canada) that for the FORD or from MAZDA OEM? I appreciate any help on this...Thanks!

In post #2 he listed a Ford part. Walk into any Ford dealer and tell them you need part 7T4Z4B425B.

Or ebay. This guy ships to Canada.
https://www.ebay.com (commissions earned)

From the later posts it sounds like you need 2 of the part listed and 1 of some other bushing that no one listed the part number to. You'll have to do some digging with the Ford parts diagram to figure out the other part #.

Mine are gone because the rear u joint is shot. Now I need to replace it the bushings and the rear drivers side differential shaft seals

what are the symptoms of bad bushings ? or is it just a visual check ? thanks in advance.

Mine started with vibration during deceleration and braking. Took it to the dealer and found out the u joint was gone which caused stress on the bushings and the seals too.
This vehicle has been a nightmare. 3 wheelbearings, the throttle body, and now this. All within 1 year of ownership.

Thanks Gmac. sorry to hear you're having so many issues, what year and mileage do you have ?

yeah the wheel bearings, brake booster, clogged AC drain, foul smell from AC vents during hot days and PTU failures (AWD only) are all very common issues.

And the maintenance is a nightmare, for the spark plugs there are three by the firewall that are difficult to get to, have to disassemble the air intake plenum, and cross your fingers the water pump never fails or leaks, that would require an engine pull out!!

Mine has 174000km so a bit over 100k miles. Gonna try detaching the rear shaft and drive it as a 2 wheel drive.

Also take the drive shaft to a drive shaft specialist they can fix it. Mine is about 150. Much better then a new shaft at $12-1600
