Just picked up new cx-5 (a couple quick questions)

Just got a new 15 cx-5 GT awd w/tech. Everything is great so far, drives very smooth.

Have 2 questions: I obviously got 2 keys, but one has a metal id like tag on it with a number, is this the key number if I lost the primary?

And what is the typical break in period? Is there something listed in the manual on a recommended period or millage? I know there will probably be many different answers for this but just want to get some feedback.

That number key tag is useless.
My Mazda3 came with that and when I needed a new key cut they wanted my VIN number and Auto Registration and the machine automatically cut it.

Manual states break-in is 600-700 miles IIRC. I know it is no longer than 700 miles.

I was told the key tag is for the keyless entry remote, not the actual key.

So it is still important. Thanks, will just leave it at home with the spare key just in case I ever need it.

You might want to write the number down somewhere as well. Not sure how important it is with the CX. I know it is important to keep that tag number on my motor sport equipment though.
