I took it in to Forbes Mazda in Waterloo and they found a missing screw, replaced it but the noise was still there. They ordered me a new shroud and installed it, it was much, much better but still vibrated in bumpy corners (when the wheel was turned). Finally they packed foam into all the contact points and the noise hasn't come back.
Crazy, between this and the squeaky rear window in the cold (http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/showthread.php?123836864-90-year-old-Mazda6) makes me wonder what climates Mazda tests their cars in!
