Mazda 3 wheels on a CX-5??

I bought 17 in Mazda 3 wheels. (BTW They look exactly like the wheels on my daughters 04 Mazda6 Had one test fitted to the CX5, It fits. Mounted 4 Nokian Hakkapeliitta R2s 225/65R17

The diameter is about the same as the OD of the stock 19 in. tires. Tires, mounted balanced, new valve stems, and on the car when I want them was $667

So yes, they fit.

I don't understand why more of the 17" base CX-5 rims are not finding their way into snow tire applications at discount prices since no one wants them for anything else??

I don't either but even the salvage yards were talking 5 to $600 a set. Mazda3 on crags list was a lot lower. A lot.

Agreed. I bought a set of new Mazda 3, 16" alloy take-offs on Craig's List for $250. They bolt up just fine. I'm shopping for 225/70x16 studless snows this month.

^^
I used my factory 17 alloys for my snow tires and then bought aftermarket wheels for summer. Since a lot of Mazda owners upgrade their wheels you can find wheels off an older 3 or a 6 that work great for cheap.

Hi i was looking at fitting 18 inch mazda 3 wheels onto my cx5.what size tyres do i need in order to keep similar diameter to original 225/65/17 wheels?

How about cx-5 wheels on a mazda3? Here's my 2012 mazda3 sky active touring with 2014 cx-5 sport wheels. . 17x7 wheels with 205 /50/17 tires.

I really like the style of GT 19" wheels, but I REALLY don't care for the selection & price of 19" tires... (unamused)

I picked up a set of slightly used Mazda3 18" wheels for dirt cheap off Craigslist & I got a great deal for tires from Discount Tire Direct during Thanksgiving... ;)

The 3's GT wheels color is slightly darker silver & shinier than CX-5 ones... I like them. (yes)
I'll be testing how well these Goodyear in snow at Lake Tahoe next week... ;)

I like this so much, I just emailed a guy locally who is selling a set of these on craigslist for a decent price. Thanks.

width??

Are the 17" mazda 3 rims as wide as the cx5's? I show some of the 3's are a 6.5" aren't cx5's 7" wide. Would that matter?

strange how vehicles look better with wheels from other cars the manufacturer makes. VW/Audi, Porshce, and BMW are good examples of how wheels from other cars in the stable look good or better on models they were never meant to be on. What a strange phenomenon.

As a owner of a '16 Touring, I wish it came with 18s standard. The 17" multispoke are ok, but those should have been reserved for the Sport trim (only), and 18s on the touring, and then the 19s for the Grand Touring. This would also help distinguish each of the trims a bit better too.

I've got a set of the 1st gen M3 GT mags for my winter tires, they fit alright, but the offset is wrong so they sit a little too deep. Not a big issue besides looks, but if I had to do it again - I'll pick up something else.
