2011 Mazda 3 Sport 5-Door
Hi guys, first time poster, so thank you in advance for your expertise and insight. My 2011 5-Door Sport S recently hit 30k miles and at my last oil change my mechanic noted that my front tires are really worn and need to be replaced. There's a discount tire near where I live, so I'm shopping for tires to be delivered to them for installation. That being said, does anyone have any suggestions for tires that will be an alternative to the stock tire? Some things to note, I live in San Diego, so winter is not really a factor. Also, there are some very windy roads that I enjoy driving on, and I rarely go above 85 MPH while driving. Finally, my rear tires are not very worn, can I purchase 2 tires of different brand without negatively impacting performance or putting my safety at risk?

Here are some options I found doing a quick search today:

Any insight is greatly appreciated!

How are you fixed for cash? Are you spending $80.00 a month for a cell phone but cheaping out on tires? I'm glad I went with the Michelin Pilot Sports AS3 in 225/45/17 for my 2011 Mazda3 S. So much better than the OEM tires that came on the car. I also am familiar with the Conti Pure Contact because that's what I replaced on my wife's 2013 Honda Civic Ex when she bought it.

To me there are 2 things that are worth spending money on when you drive in a high traffic area like DC,MD,VA first great brakes...and second great tires. If you get into a fender bender due to poor braking or tires your insurance deductible would buy either of these items.
