2014 Mazda CX-5 Remote Start

First, I apologize if this has already been asked in the forums but I am having a hard time finding a direct answer after my research.

I recently purchased a 2014 Mazda CX-5 and haven't played with the factory remote start keypad until recently. Can you actually unlock the car with the factory remote start keypad? I have tried and researched but can't seem to get anything concrete.

No, You can't. You need the key FOB to lock/unlock the doors, and the remote start only starts or shuts off the car. Also, when you remote start the car, and then unlock the door and actually open the door, the car will SHUT OFF. this is normal. Normal, but stupid. You then have to restart the car in order to drive.
