Planning on doing a manual transmission fluid change in the next month or so.. I have a set of those rhino ramps which I plan to use to lift the car. Does the car need to be level when filling?
In the transmission fill plug, and the MTX uses 3.1 quarts(3 should suffice). It seems the Ford Motorcraft synthetic MTX is the preferred choice in here as it is in the MS3 and NA/NB Miata. Costly, but it really makes the transmission shift smooth since it was specifically designed to work with the FWD transmission in the Focus(which is remarkably similar in material construction to our transmissions).
