Interesting article, knowing the Tiguan well, there is hardly anything I would disagree with. Refinement regarding road noise perhaps, but the 150ps diesel is no noisier an engine. I would have bought a Tiguan if I was willing to pay much more than the Cx5 but I wasn't, manly for the interior quality and refinement.

Funny how torque is totally ignored, the fact is the Tig is dated in the diesel engine department, even the 148bhp CX-5 version matches the torque of the most powerful Tig engine.

Even the BMW X3 has been updated in 2L diesel form to compete with the torque of the 173 CX-5 diesel.

With the CX-5 you get more mpg with more torque, that quite an achievement for a relatively small company.
