Hello to all,

Was in a slight fender bender and the passenger upper side airbags went off...what is the procedure for this?

Thx,

Sorry for not being more descriptive...yes, what must be done to fix them, and what parts are required/needed?

Thank you.

Most likely, airbag assembly, SRS unit (airbags computer), and impact sensor up front or side where ever impact was made.

Thanks Davicho...what comes w an airbag assembly and what is an SRS unit? The impact sensor, in this case, goes into the back right door.

No problem, but yes you probably don't want to do this yourself given that you don't know what an SRS unit is (please don't take it the wrong way, I'm not trying to be a jerk). Let a professional do this because there is procedures that need to take place to make sure the system is uncharged. The last thing you need is having all the airbags go off on you for not taking the proper steps. Airbags are not safe to mess with, they are pyro technically charged parts, they can be very dangerous or deadly if not taken care of properly.

Yes a professional has to install them. I think it'd be very tough for you to even buy a replacement yourself. Just remember the air bag is a kind of pyrotechnic charge, they are supposed to be pretty sensitive and one going off in your hands is not a good thing.

Even if you don't kill yourself trying to install them, you really want to make sure they are done properly to ensure they deploy again if you're involved in another accident.
