oil cooler replacement

hey everyone,

Im new to this forum so if im in the wrong spot let me know. My wife has a 2008 CX-7 which is leaking oil from the oil cooler. the dealer wants better than 700 to replace this part. I am wondering if anyone has replaced this themselves and if its a fesible job to be done over a weekend. Also in my online search ive found conflicting information about the type of cooler and its location. Just looking for a straight answer. Thanks

If you're used to light mechanic, you can do that job in a weekend.

But try to replace the oil filter housing by the same time to do the "spin-on" filter conversion.

Better late then never...
The 2010-2012 models have spin-on oil filters.
