Water leak, not using A/C

Last night I noticed water leaking underneath my 2007 Mazda5. Quite a bit of water. It's from about 2 feet behind the front axle, passenger side near centerline. The thing is that I am not using A/C. I had the climate control set to Defrost and Floor combined. Does that use the A/C compressor? If so, is it normal to leak a bunch?

Defrost on most cars will use the AC compressor, yes.

Is most likely water from the AC since you were running the defrost which will turn on the AC.

So I confirmed in the manual that even that mode of defrost does indeed use the AC, but is that the location that we would expect it to come from? And the picture doesn't show as much water as I had seen at the previous place I was parked.
