How much can I expect to pay to replace the windshield on an '03?
I didn't know you had a choice when it came to windshield glass replacement. My windshields seem to get pitted so much from my daily driving, I just thought it was regular road debris from a long commute.Make sure you get good glass. Pilkington is a good brand. Cheap glass will start to pit quick. I would say $300-$400 for a Pilkington windshield installed is a decent price.
Definitely talk to your insurance first you will likely save a lot.

Oh. Do you ask the windshield company which glass they carry? I usually go with SafeLite since their service has never given me problems. I've replaced four windshields (all different cars at different times). All from road debris rocks cracking the windshield, not accidents. You do depending upon the glass shop you choose. PGW (formerly PPG auto glass) or Pilkington are the brands you want. Check the Pilkington's though, I've seen a few that had a slight green tint/hue to them. It seems to vary from windshield to windshield.
For what it's worth, I usually go PGW.
Well he's looking to buy one with pre-existing glass damage. Insurance wouldn't cover that...
