Can a malfunctioning IAC valve cause a higher than normal idle? Not tripping the CEL but when I checked with my code reader (DTC P0507 Idle control system RPM higher than expected) came up? Can this be adjusted with the AAS? Or should I be looking at replacing the IAC valve? Any insight would be appreciated.
-Thanks, Steve.

Some people have taken apart their IAC and cleaned it much like the EGR cleaning process. It may be just a little fouled up.

you can take off the valve easily, it sits on the throttle body assembly
I would worry if i used brake-cleaner to clean it, Id use something thats MAF-safe! cheers

Here's a noob question; where is the iac? I know where it is on a Mustang GT, and i know about where it shiuld be on this car but I didn't have any luck finding it on my car. I'm having sporadic idle issues. Just bought the car yesterday. Still working out the bugs. I intend to search google for pics but any help would be appreciated.

I just found out how to search our site for specific pictures:

To search for pictures of the IAC valve on mazadas247.com:

Open Google search, click on Images then enter "IAC site:mazdas247.com".
